High Blood Pressure can affect anyone. We know there are some people that are more prone to high blood pressure than others, everyone is a potential candidate.
Neither race nor age secures a barrior from hypertension AKA: High Blood Pressure.
There are those who don’t “eat right”, never exercise and are over weight who have desired blood pressure readings. And then there are those who seem to do everything right, have desirable weight and yet have out of sight readings.
We know there is no special category of person who can be assured they will not be at risk – everyone needs to have it checked at least periodically.
It is important to know that one stand alone abnormal reading is not necessarily a case in which immediate action must be taken. Consideration must be paid to potential one time factors such as what activity a person was just engaged in prior to the reading.
Having your blood pressure taken when you are experiencing pain can result in higher than normal readings.
Don’t do things just prior to a reading that could contribute to the artificially high results – such as drinking coffee or smoking. The best setting is one in which you’ve had a chance to relax for at least five minutes or more.
Once you have determined that your blood pressure is high by taking numerous readings at various times, you can begin to look at ways to reduce it. One of the key factors in blood pressure control is weight control.
Even a weight loss of a few pounds can lead to a reduction in blood pressure. A healthy lifestyle with routine exercise will benefit your body and mind in many ways.
Many foods contain extraordinary amounts of sodium – another factor in hypertension. Increasing your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables in lieu of processed foods can result in much healthier blood pressure readings.
Breakfast cereals, luncheon meat, almost anything that has been processed has had large amounts of sodium added to it. Put down the saltshaker, eat more raw vegetables and fruits and you may be amazed at the effect it will have on your blood pressure.
Simply relaxing can be of big benefit to overall health including blood pressure. Stress and tension contribute considerably to hypertension.
The mind and body need a break – and many people need to learn how to achieve this.
Regardless of the path you choose, controlling your weight, reducing salt intake, and learning to relax will go a long way in giving you blood pressure you can live with!
My High Blood Pressure Program will teach you easy and quick exercises that will bring down your blood pressure in ways you never thought possible.
