If I have one weakness in my otherwise healthy lifestyle, it’s my large cup of great coffee, everyday.  Not one for wanting to own “vices,” I wonder as to why coffee, in moderation, is considered to be one.

A good friend recently said that her doctor told her she had to quit drinking coffee due to her hypertension (high blood pressure).

I found it very interesting that the doctor  told her to give up coffee rather than three other habits which to me, seemed to be of higher concern than drinking coffee:  Over-eating, smoking cigarettes and alcohol consumption.

I had to assume the doctor stressed to my friend that smoking, alcohol and being overweight are all high contributors to her increased blood pressure, as there is large amount of evidence that these things do contribute to high blood pressure.  But coffee?

To date, there is no explicit evidence that shows coffee leads to the development of high blood pressure.

What has been documented is that coffee can elevate blood pressure, although, only slightly AND only temporarily.

These same studies also say that when drinking coffee on a regular basis, this temporary increase in blood pressure dissipates.

Researchers are starting to notice the reason coffee is often associated with the actual contributors to hypertension (cigarettes, and obesity) is because many people tend to combine drinking coffee with these bad behaviors.

The argument that drinking coffee causes high blood pressure, based upon the above partnering of behaviors, is just plain false.

This combination of behaviors is where I’d like to see more research.  I’ve read a lot of stories about people who switched from coffee to green tea and see all sorts of positive changes, including lowered blood pressure.  What wasn’t explained was whether or not they gave up their cigarettes and pastries as a result.

Based on evidence, I do not believe that drinking a cup of coffee, even every day will cause high blood pressure.  If I believed that, I wouldn’t drink it myself.

No matter why you have high blood pressure, I think you will benefit from my High Blood Pressure Program.  I’ve seen and documented incredible results from this simple, natural cure.

Additionally, I suggest my Weight Loss Breeze Program if you suffer from this condition as well.
