Natural treatment for Hypertension

Do you know that more than 30% of America’s adult population suffers from hypertension?

Hypertension is a serious health condition that can lead to irreparable damage to various body organs, such as heart, eyes, and kidneys. Hypertension is also the biggest contributor to heart attacks and cardiac arrests, but still more than half of hypertension patients in America don’t opt for conventional hypertension treatments.

Why?

Two factors that above all contribute most to this behavior are the high cost of treatment and the harmful side-effects of allopathic medicines. I too, belonged to this category of hypertension patients and didn’t opt for conventional high blood pressure treatment because of my apprehensions about the harmful side-effects of the allopathic medicines. Instead, I benefited from the proven natural health remedies for curing hypertension. These natural remedies not only helped me in controlling my blood pressure, but also helped me in improving my overall health.

Do’s and Don’ts for hypertension patients

The underlying philosophy of natural health treatment for hypertension is to cure the disease from the root.

So, if you suffer from hypertension avoid processed foods and other foods that have high sodium content. Also, avoid red meat, sugar, and fatty foods that elevate blood cholesterol levels.
Among the foods that naturopaths recommend for lowering blood pressure, papaya tops the list. If you are suffering from hypertension, you should eat a papaya on an empty stomach for a month or so. In fact, papaya not only helps in controlling blood pressure, but also helps you in losing the extra pounds.

Other foods that a hypertension patient must include in his/her diet include celery juice and garlic. Garlic-rich foods-I tested and found-can lower blood pressure immediately.
Though, I benefited from these natural remedies, there impact on controlling my condition was limited. It wasn’t till I discovered and practiced a specially crafted exercise regime for curing hypertension that I could attain complete freedom from hypertension.

With the help of these moderate exercises, I was able to bring my blood pressure to normal levels within just a few weeks. Now, it’s been many years since I’m cured of hypertension and all I do to remain healthy is to daily practice these exercises for a few times each week.

I’ve designed these exercises specifically for curing high blood pressure and their regular practice will lower your blood pressure, no matter how elevated it is. Moreover, as these exercises are simple to perform, anyone can practice and benefit from them.

If you or someone close to you suffers from hypertension then you can check out these exercises at my Natural Blood Pressure Exercise Program .

Thank you for the good sense advice. I’ll try everything you have suggested, as well as my new regime of regular exercise, diet, and determination to get my weight down and stabilise my bp, which spikes when I become cardio phobic, with the result that the prophecy of fear becomes self fulfilling. I wonder how much my beta blockers affect my efforts to work out in the gym, how many beats per minute my pulse should reach at the peak of the workout. I look forward so much to the day when I don’t need the beta blockers and simovastatin any more, or the coversyl. The medication, while doing its job, also seems to make me dopey. I am a great believer i natural healing, including homeopathy and ayuvedic.

My BP is 95/65 resting normally. I eat a very healthy diet including lots (& lots) of nuts. Pecans, walnuts & hazlenuts have high H & L ORAC values. I drink a pint of tea on waking (1 green Tbag + 1 roobios Tbag per pint - no sugar). This, on it’s own drops s&d BP by 5 points within 5-10 minutes and if you then drink another pint every 3 hrs throughout the day , not only do you get lots of fluid (clear pee every 3-4 hrs) but BP stays low all day. I have been doing this for 10 yrs & monitor BP all the time for the record. For “ORAC” see internet, but I go for 20,000 to 30,000 units per day (recommended is c7000). I am 62, look 50, 10st 6lb & fit as a fiddle. Highest ORAC/gm except for spices is very dark chocolate (80%+) @ 1040 OU/gm.

I got my weight down by 10 lbs. cut out salts and carbs mostly veggies fruits and chicken and got my bloodpressure down in 3 weeks. The doctor wanted to put me on blood pressure pills. I did not want to as I have seen so many people suffer from lethargy after taking high blood pressure pills. I also excercised a lot, walking, up and down stairs 20 times a day and using my gazelle. It really works!!

  17. Madeleine Egger says:

I did know about about and always used garlic extensively in my food. However, I still have highblood pressure. But I am going to try the celery juis and papaya in the morning. I have started to go to the gym and will use your exercises as soon as I receive them.
Thank you for your help. I will let you know of the results.

  18. Delema Sinclair says:

Thank you for the information about how to bring my blood pressure down. I have already cut down on red meats, salt and butter. I will get some papaya but the problem over here in New Zealand is that they cost a lot and it is a task to find good fresh ones. However, it is my health that is very important and not the papaya.
    Cheers
    Delema

  19. Thank you for this information. I will try all of these. I’ve had high blood pressure for many years and now at 72 I am finally trying to get ahold of it.

Over the time I have been computing round the web I have spent quite a lot on various bits of Software and Diet programmes and such.my reluctance not to take up Dr Christian Goodman blood pressure programme is that I am going to the Dr who has put me on the usual killer Medication Perindoprill and Slocinx (Doxazosin)yes they have brought my blood pressure down but I now have Back pain Lower back I suppose (it could be my kidneys) Dizzy soon get out of breath walking some times feel sick .the Dr says try and put up with the problem and it should clear up.

Why my numbers between two consecutive readings of high blood pressure are usually 20-30 points?

  26. Tam says:

I am thin 110 lbs I am very athletic, I eat no salt, no caffeine, no dairy, and little fat. Still my BP is often 220 over 110 or more. I have tried every natural remedy I can find and also have been on every medication the Doctors prescribe and still no relief. In July I had emergency open heart surgery. Five of my arteries were 85 to 90% blocked. My cholesterol level is low and always has been. I do Biofeedback, Yoga, meditation and exercise regularly and there has been no relief from this insanely high BP. This has been a 15 year battle I am beyond frustrated and now somewhat frightened given my recent past. Do you believe that your simple exercises would have any kind of impact?

  27. Dear Sir,
I enjoy getting your emails on HB presure. And by just starting I plan to take your advice on how to lower it to normal the natural way.I beleive in the Natural way,no drugs of any kind but I have been on a medication for about 10 years which is for high BP and also palitations of the heart.I would like to get off this medication and go natural the way God intended.I also feel that Amerians are over medicated, that doctors get a cut of the meds they prescribe.etc.I find it hard to go to my doctor because if I have a problem, right away a medication is subcribed. Why don’t doctors help they’re patients by going more natural? My great grandfather lived to be 95 and was never to a doctor.
The only problem that I have in reading your emails is the thing that comes up on the right blocks some of your words and I can’t move it to read your emails fully. Can something be done about this?
I enjoy your emails and am doing these things,Looking forward to hearing from you.Thank You.
    Best Wishes
    Saundra

  29. Jerry Cooke says:

I gave up on doctors helping me. Infact they have just made my condition (HBP) worse with al the side affects from medication. I am turning to natural ,more exercise, diet etc. I hope to put up a web site called “The Doctors are killing you” sometime in the future. Most won’t take time to talk to you ,most are rude hurried and uncaring with your personal case. U wait 2-3 hours to see them and they spend 2 minutes with yu and rush out before you have a chance to ask questions.

  30. Leigh says:

Christian - I’m questioning your comment about drinking celery juice every day to help towards controlling high blood pressure however, I know that celery as a high sodium content. Wouldn’t drinking it every day be a problem? Also,
I’m taking 10mg of lisinopril daily now ….benn taking it for about 8 mos.) but have started having a problem with ringing in my ears (real bad :-( I’ve heard that this may be a side effect. Could that be true?

  31. Marie says:

Hello, thank you for those tips which I endeavour to try as of tomorrow-

I am 39 years old and was diagnosed with a scary high blood pressure level and cholesterol 10 days ago-my Dc put me on 20mg Renitec straight away and within a few days my blood pressure went back to normal- I thought I was very healthy because I exercise usually 2-3 times a week, am thin , do not smoke anymore (stopped 10 years ago)… hence my Dc’s shock to see I was on such high hypertension (which I never had before).I believe it to be almost psychosomatic (stressed induced in my case) and also may be the cause of a little careless eating and drinking in the last 6 months-

I hate taking medication and intend to stop as soon as I can. For exercises, I practice Ashtanga yoga from the comfort of my home every day ( DVD for beginners from Amazon) It is great-makes you feel very relaxed, positive and strong, and eases breathing!!! Nicki Doane’s Ashtanga Yoga is great, easy to follow and does not endoctrine you in new age stuff.

Finally, I have just purchased a book called “cholesterol for dummies” and a few BBC cookbooks to lower cholesterol-

So….the way I look at this is that nature gave me a warning and I certainly intend to reverse those bad ailments into a newer mega fit and healthy me throughout 2009 and beyond ! Life is too precious to be bogged down with this.

Many thanks once again and I for sure will check your blog and apply your tips frequently (I am French and garlic is only second nature to me ha ha ha!!)

    Marie :-)

no one seems to know this but I am going to ask you to see if you may.
I get my blood word done every six months after having thyroid removed…..the good news is for the first time in 5 years my white blood count was normal…but my estrogen level was “very high for my age (52)…..could estrogen effect BP?
Thanks for all of your info!

  36. Jerry Snider says:

I’m a 68 yr.old retired Pharmacist, and I am still learning. My blood pressure has been under poor control for several months. It occured to me 3-4 wks ago, that I may be dehydrated, as I have little or no thirst response. So, I began to add 3-12 Oz glasses of water to my daily
reginine. Sure enough on the days I do that, my B.Pr is usually in the 120s over 70-80. It reminded me I once read a book by an Iranian Doc
who treated prisoners with water for Hi BPr. He wrote a book, “Our body’s many cries for water.” His name was something like Batmanijin.
Water intake ought to help anyone. Dehydration also affect our brain.

Is there such a thing as a phobia when looking at the blood pressure monitor. I seem to stress big time when the monitor is on my arm and it takes hours for me to calm down. What should I do, I’ve tried everything and it still remains the same.

  38. Therese says:

    Thank you once again
    Cheers Therese
