Over and over again I receive emails from people who have tried everything to lower their – up to 210/140 high - blood pressure. They’ve been on medications for years and take every supplement known to man.
Like that wasn’t enough, they also tell me their father, mother, grandfather and grandfather plus several aunts and uncles suffered soaring blood pressure. So it must be in their genes, right?
Most often, their question is pretty much the same…
“How could this program possible help me in such an impossible situation?”.
Since this question is so common, I decided to explain it right here on this blog.
You see, hypertension is of course partly caused by genetic factors or wrong, bad, modern day diets. But that is only a small part of the problem. Emotions and thinking patterns play much bigger part.
We’re reacting to stimulation around us almost 24 hours a day. At least the 16 hours we’re awake, we’re constantly under some kind of pressure. Either internal or external - and our body is not fit to deal with this stimulation. After all, the technology world is only a few decades old.
We are so used to this, we often don’t realize how overwhelming this constant stimulation is.
Let me take a little example from the simple world I grew up in.
When I was a young boy, my father and mother lived in the city but had a farm in the country side. My grandmother took care of the farm.
I loved spending all summers on the farm. And more than anything, I loved the horses.
Out there, we could ride forever without ever having to cross a road. There were a few tractors around and of course we had cars but they were few and far between.
When we had youngsters, we began training them in the summer when they were four years old. We took it slowly and most often they were very calm and easy to handle. It wasn’t till second or third year in training that we brought them to the stable in the city in the winter time.
Now here comes the important part…
You couldn’t believe how frightened these young horses often were when they were faced with the city. Fast cars all over the place. Screaming people. Big houses. Even in the quiet stable area, the stimulation was overwhelming for them. They either froze or run off or just shook all over when we took them out riding.
So what did we do to help them get over this?
First of all, we always took them out with an older horse who was relaxed and wasn’t affected by all the static. This gave the youngster confident that everything was all right.
But even more important…
In the evening – when the hey had been fed and everything was quiet – we spent hours brushing and combing them. We knew we were making progress when the youngster enjoyed his treatment so much that he closed his eyes and stopped eating even if the hey was right in front of him.
Soon, the traffic and static didn’t seem to bother the youngster as much. He had his focused break in the evening and that gave his nervous system enough soothing so he could deal with the difficult tasks during the day. The tension in their back disappeared and you could feel them relax.
Nowadays it is much different. The horses are more used to the fast world, even if they come straight from the countryside. But they still benefit a lot from getting their long quiet brushing in the evening. And I think I benefit just as much as them.
Just like the youngsters in training, we don’t just have to deal with the fast world around us. We need to deal with difficult people and difficult tasks every day. This puts our nerve system in the high gear and keeps it tense from morning to night.
Even when everything is quiet and there is no external stimulation for a short while, our brains won’t let go. It keeps spinning either with all the worries we’re facing or resentment about something “somebody did to us” during the day. Our system is still in the high gear. And our blood pressure may be worse than ever.
Even to the last moment before we fall asleep, the mind keeps on going.
Some of us may be more genetically open for hypertension, our diet may also temporarily flair up our blood pressure. But nothing is on us like our own emotions and mind. Nothing actively bugs us from morning to night like our own head.
Meditation has been shown to be somewhat effective for hypertension. But I don’t know many people who have the discipline to sit and quieten their mind for 30-60 minutes a day. The mind often begins spinning with more force than ever.
My focused break exercises are totally effortless. All you need to do is to be lead by the directions on the audios. The feeling from two of the the exercises is a little bit like the feeling in the stable when we groom the horses when everything is quiet. The first exercise is more like a technique I learned from one of the most famous horse whisperer still alive.
The bottom line is, everyone can follow these exercises immediately and begin benefiting very quickly. There is nothing to learn and no skills to practice. It works if you work it no matter how bad your situation may look.
And the best part is, it gives you a little time off from the world. A time with no worries and no pressure. That’s what I like the most about them. So enjoy.
Warm regards,
Christian Goodman

hi what is this going to cost me..???

Yes natural remedies and exercises help to adjust bp have experienced
Hi Christian,
My big problem is that a few years ago I developed a full blown phobia regards BP.
To be honest I’ve been putting off going to the doctors for a couple of months now and try not to think about it because I know that the very thought immediately causes it to soar.
I’ve tried so many cds over the years on relaxation and have become very dismayed.
So that’s my situation and last at GP surgery despite 4 medications it was 160/105 although at times in past I’ve had a lot higher at home so I now don’t do home readings.
I know that it’s the anxiety that is the insoluble problem otherwise I’m fairly rational and logic.
What do I do?
Rob
Hey Christian,
Thanks for keeping me in the loop on your program.
Currently, I’m exploring an alternative solution and plan to give it some time.
Like one of your previous respondents, I don’t take home readings because they go up and it’s like a positive feedback system.
If my alternative doesn’t work, I’ll definitely try your program.
Grace and Peace,
Jerry M
I would agree that taking ones own blood pressure can cause it to elevate but a simple solution is to learn to relax completely other wise you will get a higher
reading and take it once a day at the same time. also thinking about lowering your blood presure whilst taking a reading is a novel way of getting a better
bp reading but you must be relaxed.

Dear Christian Goodman,
Thanks for your latest message. You should know that I’m seventy-five, have been retired for eighteen years and my latest BP reading was 142/85.
Definitely higher than it should be. Will consider you offer further down the road. In the meantime, best wishes.
