Technique to Control High Blood Pressure

"How can your program help me in controlling my blood pressure?"

This is the most common question that I’m consistently asked through emails by people who suffer from hypertension and have been on allopathic medications for long, but have failed to control their blood pressure.

The sheer frequency of the above question has convinced me that it is best that I answer the question on this blog. And this is exactly what I intend to do today.

Most of us understand that genes, bad eating habits, and poor lifestyle choices are the factors responsible for hypertension. We often forget to include another factor that plays a very big role in the development of high blood pressure. This other factor is emotions and thinking patterns.

We react to stimuli around us throughout the day. It is important for us to learn how to deal with the emotional pressure, both external and internal, the right way. Otherwise, the stimulation can be overwhelming and become the biggest obstacle in lowering high blood pressure.

I’ll share an example with you that illustrate how constant stimulation takes a toll on us:

My parents had a farm in the countryside, and when I was growing up, I regularly spent my summers there. I loved the outdoors, but it was not the only reason I went there. It was the horses that fascinated me most and were the primary reason for my yearly visit. At that time, we didn’t have much traffic on the road and could ride on horses for hours, literally without coming across any vehicle.

We trained them young and after a couple of years of training in the countryside, we used to bring the young horses to the city. And this is where the difficult part started.

Invariably, the young horses used to get all worked up due to all the cacophony and traffic. Even in the quiet stable area, the stimulation was just too much for them to bear. The result was that they either used to run off or freeze whenever we took them out for riding. At first, we thought the situation would improve on its own in some days. But we were wrong. Even after weeks, the young horses remained as frightened as they were on their first day.

We started taking the young horses out with an older horse, one who had adjusted to the city environment and was not affected by all the hustle and bustle. The calmness and confidence of older horses began to rub off on the younger lot, as they become less perturbed with all the stimulation.

In the evening, after the young horses had been properly fed, we spent hours combing and brushing them. They started to enjoy this daily ritual so much so that they had their eyes closed during this whole period.

It was not long before the daily "soothing sessions" began to show results. Soon, the cacophony and traffic didn’t perturb the young horses as much. They had their daily "soothing sessions" in the evening that kept them going throughout the day without getting tense. And young horses were not the only one who enjoyed and looked forward to the break; I too benefited from the sessions as much as them.

What am I getting at?

We all need an activity that relaxes our mind and gives us the energy and confidence to cope with all the stimulation that we encounter the whole day.
Meditation is one such activity that calms our mind and fills us with positive energy. But not everyone has the discipline to sit in one position and meditate for 45-60 minutes a day.

My focused break exercises are less demanding than meditation, but are equally effective. Whatever your age or condition, you can practice these easy-to-do exercises and benefit from them. The feeling from the first couple of exercises is similar to the feeling in the stable in the evening when we take care of horses.

There are no prerequisites for practicing these exercises, and participants can follow these "soothing exercises" straight-away and reap immediate benefits. All you need to do is follow the directions on the audio guides.

The exercises work if you work - it is that simple. Practice the set of exercises included in the program to lower your blood pressure.

Besides lowering your blood pressure, these exercises also provide you with an opportunity to take a little time off from the world, where worries and pressure don’t trouble your mind.

Warm regards,
Christian Goodman

    Hi Christian,

My big problem is that a few years ago I developed a full blown phobia regards BP.
To be honest I’ve been putting off going to the doctors for a couple of months now and try not to think about it because I know that the very thought immediately causes it to soar.
I’ve tried so many cds over the years on relaxation and have become very dismayed.
So that’s my situation and last at GP surgery despite 4 medications it was 160/105 although at times in past I’ve had a lot higher at home so I now don’t do home readings.
I know that it’s the anxiety that is the insoluble problem otherwise I’m fairly rational and logic.
    What do I do?

    Rob

    Hey Christian,
Thanks for keeping me in the loop on your program.
Currently, I’m exploring an alternative solution and plan to give it some time.
Like one of your previous respondents, I don’t take home readings because they go up and it’s like a positive feedback system.

If my alternative doesn’t work, I’ll definitely try your program.

    Grace and Peace,
    Jerry M

  5. david nankivell says:

I would agree that taking ones own blood pressure can cause it to elevate but a simple solution is to learn to relax completely other wise you will get a higher
reading and take it once a day at the same time. also thinking about lowering your blood presure whilst taking a reading is a novel way of getting a better
bp reading but you must be relaxed.
    regards
    david

    Dear Christian Goodman,

Thanks for your latest message. You should know that I’m seventy-five, have been retired for eighteen years and my latest BP reading was 142/85.
Definitely higher than it should be. Will consider you offer further down the road. In the meantime, best wishes.

I received your BP program on March 19, 2008. I started listening during the excerises immediately and after four days of use my BP has dropped from 149/75 to a low in the morning 128/70 to afternoon reading of 135/72. Hope this program continues with success for the future. Goal is have BP reading below 120/80.

    Hi Christian
I like what you say about b/p and it is probably the truth, and I believe you can lower it by these techniques you use. This is all well and good, but when you’re away from home and this anxiety or stress as you would call it causes your pressure to rise, its difficult to start doing any procedures. I can see this helping while you’re at home but when you get out and face this cruel world at times, I think it would be difficult to make this technique last for any long periods of time. I have blood pressure problems do to genetics but have it under control with medicine. I hate that I have to take them because of the side effects that all medicines have. They help one problem and cause several more. Thanks so much for your information.

    Hi Christian,
I am currently trying some herbal capsules (Boncardia Forte)for HBP (192/130) also a stress tonic. Seems to be working. I strongly agree with meditation/calm abiding to relax. Meditation does take disipline and training of the mind to be still and empty. I will keep your ideas in mind for later if needed.

  16. rose ferguson says:

Your offer seems too good to be true. I am currently undergoing accupuncture to help lower by BP without medication. My BP runs had been running at about 140/90, and spiking up to 160/105 when stressed. The accupuncture has helped to get it back to normal levels; however, I can’t afford to continue with this treatment. I am planning to try your program.

  17. f says:

I have purchased your tape and have not been consistent on a daily basis. Is it necessary to listen daily?
Sincerely hope it will lower my blood pressure as my last reading at the doctors was 160/90 which does become lower at times. I become very nervous when this is done. Never took medications prior to seeing this doctor 8 months ago with a reading at that time of 139/87. Given Rx for1 BP medication and increased to 2 with additional dosages each time meeting with doctors every 3-4 wks. The last visit doctor gave prescription for 2 additional medications, which I have refused to take.

I am glad I purchased your tape and will test my pressure at home in the next few days to see if is lower.

  18. Elizabeth Wanjiku says:

Christian thank you. You don’t have to tell me. My hypertension was caused by stress. I know that 100% .We too have genetic predisposition because we are so smart in our family. We always try to achieve. My older brother lives a relaxed life on the farm and he never gets sick with anything. Not even a cold and he is 65. I got so sick and went into heart failure at admission. I am now being treated for that but I know I don’t want to be on these six different medications for life. I can get my normal back life again. Heart failure can progress and worsen but mine is now stalled and I feel with proper diet, proper diet control and exercises including supplements and relaxation I can get my life back and live longer. My heart will never function 100 % but there is no reason I cannot control my BP with other than medication.. I feel it. I understand that keeping my BP low with medications now keeps my heart working good. But with time I want for my BP to be normal without medications and that is achievable. That is why I will purchase you program I the coming days, when I have organised my finances.

  19. Sandy says:

My blood pressure has been high for over a year. Many medicaitons have given me side effects. The doctor has prescribed 3 lots of tablets for me to take now. It doesn’t make sense that I am on medication and when I have my blood pressure checked early morning after taking the medication it is still reading 180/95. I have a feeling the medication is making me worse, let alone all the money the tablets are costing. I have starting trying relaxation techniques. I shouldn’t have any stress as I am now retired from work and enjoying my time.

  20. Dear sir:

How can I be assured if these exercises don’t work within a month that I would get my money back?

ACTUALLY I’M PREGNANT, AND MY BLOOD PRESSURE IT’S NORMAL WHEN I’M IN HOME, BUT WHEN I GO IN HOSPITAL FOR VISIT, ALWAYS MY BLOOD PRESSURE IT’S HIGHER. Really I’m very emotional when I’m there, but my doctor recommended me to check everyday my blood pressure.
When I’m there my bp was: 156/85, sometimes 147/80.
What recommend you to fix my blood pressure.
    Best regard

  25. Julie Lewin says:

    Dear Christian,

I stumbled upon your advertisement about hypertension while doing research for my website. I decided to buy the program to experience buying something from an advertisement, as well as needing to reduce my blood pressure.

For 3 years my blood pressure has been consistently in the high category. There is family history of hypertension. My doctor has let me handle this myself, so far. My highest reading was 165/105 and has consistently been around 145/93. This was too high for someone who their whole life was consistently 110/70 or less.

I started doing only the first 2 exercises in your program 3 days ago (I haven’t done the night exercise yet) - and my blood pressure is 135/85 - this has given me the encouragement to keep going. It hasn’t been this low for 3 years.

Thank you for your non-medication solution to hypertension. I love it!!!!!

    Julie

  29. Ernie Berry says:

Hi, I,m Ernie from the UK and I suffer from isolated systolic hypertension but this has been aggravated of late due to my partners terrible accident. She fell badly, broke her hip and the emergency room trated her very badly as did the surgeon and she has a prosthesis installed with a very short life span. The ER failed to pick up her type 2 diabetes also and did not obtain informed consent for the procedure. My beautiful love now is partly disabled and has the legacy of this to live with daily and this is fuelling my already anxious nature to the extent that I have even higher pressures. I’ve now got PTSD as well and I am desperate for a solution to my pressures. You’re system does not seem to be availble outside the US but I was willing to try it. Can you help?

  30. j anderson says:

Mr. Goodman, I love the thought of lowering my bp normally without the help of drugs. I have just recently discovered that I have high bp avg. about 176/100. I am only 39 and my life is seriously stressful. But as I am the only one working in my family supporting 5 other people I do not have the money to pay for your program. Is there anything you can do to help me to lower my bp?

    Sincerely,
    J. Anderson

  31. Luis says:

Hi, I am looking at your method and may give it a try, of course I’m somewhat sceptical since I think my problem is caused by genetics more than everything else and here’s why. I have never smoked, always exercised as if I was training for the olympics ( since my 20’s ) used to be an occasional drinker and now refrain from it completely as I do coffee ( I know the jury is still out on that one, but just in case ) I come from a family with obesity and was obese at 20 ( 220 lbs ) But I took it seriously and started a very strict exercise program early in life and have won the weight battle, at 22 I was 175 pounds, played Hockey, tennis, ran 50 miles a week, did some boxing, squash, swimming and weight trained seriously, packed on an additional 5 lbs of muscles throughout the years and now at 51 years old, 5′8′ 180 lbs with a very muscular built and a total body fat of less than 11%, I run, bike ( biked 12,000 miles in the last 2 years )and weight train for a gran total of 20 hours a week, eat all the right foods, very low sodium, drink a lot of water, get at least 6 hours and up to 8 hours of sleep every day, I’m retired from police work and have been for 3 years, my main activity is physical training, I have a wonderful relationship with my wife and live in the country where we enjoy a very quiet life, have no financial worries and with all of this my BP has been going up regularly and now with meds which include : rampiril, norvasc and diovan once a day and with all the vitamins and recommended supplements and living like a monk or health guru, I’m struggling to keep my BP under control, I would like to see it at 120/80 but a lot of times if I slip off my program just a bit it goes up to/and over 145/85 quickly. I also believe home readings make me anxious to the point of elevating my BP, my first reading is usually a lot higher than the second one which is taken right away within 90 seconds of taking the first and can drop 20/8 like 140/86 to 120/78 within 90 seconds and my pulse drops from 81 to 64. I get it up to 140/85 after running hills and doing sprints for an hour and I don’t understand why I have the same reading doing nothing. My doctor increased my dosage and added a diuretic a few months ago and after a week I stopped the diuretic and went back to the initial dosage as I felt I could no longer maintain the level of physical activity due to very strong side effects from the added and increased meds, they made me tired and drained all my energy. I am determined in keeping the dosage of synthetic meds to what I’m taking now as they don’t affect my energy level that much and don’t give me serious side effects, but I would like to get off them completely. I feel I carry some nervousness or jitteriness on a daily basis and some of it has to do with the constant worrying of my BP. I’ve been trying to get off the meds and go natural, decreasing dosage bit by bit, I thought I was on the right track after I got off diovan and was taking low dosage of the other two aforementioned synthetic drugs, but subsequent to a two week period it started to go up again and I had to start over again as my BP was getting out of control, the highest readings ever were 156/88 but I feel it is too high, my goal would be to be able to get it down to 130/85 or less without drugs and would be very happy with it knowing the desired readings are lower ( 120/80, as they are most days at this time ) However, like most people with HBP, my family background makes me a perfect candidate, my father and 2 older brothers have it and even if they are extremely overweight and in very poor physical condition and 2 of them smoke and have been somking since their teens, have no concerns about health issues, drink a lot more than they should, eat all the bad stuff and still their BP is not much higher than mine, which frustrates me a lot.
That is why I don’t embrace your method a first glance, I keep reading and I am very interested in finding out more I guess the frustrations make me sceptical since I don’t even understand why I’m struggling so much with this, I look like a very healthy person ( being thin and muscular ) but have this problem that I can’t solve. I managed to fight off diabetes type 2 ( other family inheritance ) and reverse my blood sugar to normal without drugs, just by increasing exercises and adjusting my food intake accordingly, it is now perfect and don’t even take readings anymore, why is it that I can’t do the same with BP ???????

    Many thanks

    Luis

  32. I have had blood pressure for the last 13 years. It started when I was pressured when my son was ill with testical cancer. I have been on medication for the last 10 years. It stabilises my pressure daily. Lately however the lower reading has been getting to be in the low 60s. The upper reading is ok always below 130. Heart beat has been hi 70s. I have 2 problems:
1.The lower reading seems too low,
    2. Whenever I have appointments with my cardiologist, my reading soars up to 180/80. Whenever I have to do the stress tests (once a year) the readings are also high and my heart beat can be as high as 120.
My question is what do I do to manage it well. I cant get access to your payment system because I am resident in Malaysia.
    Thank you.

I am 65 and have been experiencing high blood pressure due in part at least to a sister who is a real pain and keeps me upset. She refuses to let me talk to my Aunt, who lives 300 miles away in the same city as she, and that keeps me upset. What type of help do you think I need to lower my blood pressure. It seems to be higher in the mornings and maybe because I get up with her spitefulness on my mind.

I liked Christine James question in2007. I am 77 years old with, as you say, genetic HBP. I am retired with moderate
income. I can only afford the cost of something after I
measure price versus income. A one time price or a program
may or may not be right for me. ( Not many people trying to sell something allow comments–hooray for you.)

  36. Kim says:

    Hi Christian,

how does your program/technique compare with Resperate, the breathing gadget approved by the doctors to lower blood pressue. I bought a unit last month and have tried it couple of times only, so dont have any stats to report yet. how much does yr pgm cost. I’ll try resperate than if it dont work i’ll consider yr stuff.

    thanks

  37. Goodman,
I also have a vicious cycle going, like other folks’ comments–fear of high BP makes it go up who knows how high when I take a reading at home or a doctor takes it; and I can’t control the anxiety and panic that grip me at these times. I found out about my high BP 6 years ago in a hospital visit for something else. But then the fear became too strong to ever get an accurate reading. I know that is the ultimate cause: HYPER–nervousness! Stress! etc.
I am interested in your product but am leery of meditation types, because I’ve tried everything unsuccessfully –if yours would work, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. –am trying a dietary adjustment right now that I hope will help. I do believe that the MENTAL area is what needs fixing; so I’d like to try your system, but don’t want to pay for it until I’m sure it works.
Do I need a CD player for your stuff?
Could I just do what you did for the horses?

  38. wendell pace says:

I have ordered your excersize program and I trust it will help with what is probably a genetic problem. I can remember having a 120/90 reading years ago and in my 50s and 60s, the top number began to climb to between 140 and 150. My doctor has me on Diovan.
