Cleansing and Detoxification

I’m going to be a little crappy today.

No, not that kind of crappy. I’m going to be talking about crap… uh … eh … that was a lousy beginning let me start again…

There is one reason above others why we get sick. Why anybody gets sick. Why anything gets sick. The same reason why your cells stop functioning properly as why big cities have stopped working properly throughout the history.

I was walking down the old streets of Athens yesterday when I thought about this subject.  I’m on my yearly trip to Greece. Some of the streets have been here for hundreds or years. Very little has changed.

Me and my friends began talking about how it was in the old days. When there were only open sewerage or people literally threw their crap down on the streets. It must have smelled awfully. And nobody realized why they were getting sick.

The worst part is, many of us are still doing pretty much the same thing. Have you ever wandered what is going on with the sewerage inside you?

Disgusting subject but necessary to keep us healthy!

For any live form to functioning properly it needs two things…

1)Nutrition delivered to it
2)Waste removed from it

More often than not, removing waste is actually a bigger problem than delivering nutrition. All cities used to have open  sewerage running down the streets, into the rivers where drinking watter was taken.

If a baby is left with dirty diaper for too long, it will develop rash. We are all aware of this on the big scale today. We even think of the pollution in the air once in a while.

But how about our own body?

No matter how much of good supplement and healthy food you eat, it will do you no good if you don’t pay attention to the waste process of your body. And I’m not just talking about the obvious part.

Every single cell in our body has the same function. They need nutrition brought to them and waste removed. Your blood does both, so it’s important to do anything you can to help keep your blood cells happy.

If you’ve paid any attention to natural health discussions on the Internet or read a couple of books on that subject, you’ve heard the term “cleansing” and “detoxifying” quite a few times.

So why is this such a hot topic?

Because we need it! We’re over dozed daily with toxic chemicals from the air we breath, food we eat and the medications we take. The toxic we take in is many times more than what our grandparents did. Especially if you live in a big city.

Many of the most common illnesses are caused by our body being filled with toxics. We need to take action and protect ourself. Detoxification and internal cleansing is our weapon.

In a healthy environment, our body would take care of it on its own through our colon, liver, kidney, lungs, lymph and skin. Urine, sweat and bowel movements are the most obvious form of cleansing. But in todays environment, our body is having a tough time keeping up with the overload of toxics we take in.

When we’ve toxic buildup in our in our body, we experience many symptoms. For example tiredness, sluggishness, being low on energy, strong food craving (often causing obesity), stress, constipation and many unidentifiable illnesses.

The biggest mistake most of us make is not drinking enough water. We also do not eat enough organic, quality food. Not exercising or getting enough quality sleep is another key to toxic-buildup.

Even if we do everything we can to not take in any toxics, we’re still not protected. There simple is too much toxic in our environment so we breath it in and even get it from the best quality organic food.

This buildup of toxics little by little begins to make us sick. Our bodies try it best to deal with the situation by storing the toxins in our cells, fat and mucus to try to avoid further damage.

Non of us deals with the situation exactly the same. There are wide variety of symptoms that are caused by this toxic buildup. Both physical and emotional.

But enough of the negative. There are several ways to cleans your body and boost your energy.

  • Drink enough water – I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll repeat it thousand times again. Drinking enough water is essential to health. Mark two or three one liters bottles with today’s date and plan to drink it all. Do the same every day.
  • Exercising and body work.– Massage, chiropractor or just plain old work out helps your body to get rid of toxics. Simple 10 minutes walk once a day will add more to your health than most other things you can do.
  • Take detoxifying baths –  Add 4-6 cups of Epsom Salt to your bath. Essential oils such as lemon and geranium may also enhance your experience.
  • Simple hydrotherapy – right before getting out of the shower, gradually turn the water temperature to cold for a ten second refreshment rinse. Go back and forth between hot and cold water 2-4 times. Dry off briskly rubbing your skin.
  • Keep up happy positive attitude – you breath deeper and your overall body functions better when you keep up a happy positive attitude. All my guides are loaded with tips about this.Sitting in the sauna – is a great way to clean your body inside out.
  • Colon cleansing – your colon probably stores literally pounds of waste that is just sitting there. Simple colon cleansing herbal formula can make a huge difference. I highly recommend finding a good cleanser. You can heal many conditions causing tiredness, sleeplessness and sluggishness using this one method.

I’m heading over to the Greek island today and will be stying there for about four weeks. In that time peoiod I’ll probably eat about two Greek salads a day – every day - made up of Olives, Cucumber, Tomatoes and Peepers… and of course a big chunk of Feta cheese on top. Each salad is loaded with olive oil and vinegar.

Other things on the menu will be equally healthy.

The Greeks are great cooks and put the best energy into the food. These four to six weeks in Greece a year is my detoxification treatment. And I love it!

Hope you enjoyed,

Christian Goodman

    Dear Christian,

Many thanks for sending your messages to me. I will be 70 in November
and despite some ills I can go to work daily and generally feel well. But I
will heed your advice about cleansing and detoxification.

    Thanks again, Fletcher

Thank you, for another insightful message. I really appreciate that you bring to mind what we should already know deep inside us. Before we got so sophisticated, we probably knew the things you have been bringing to our attention. I don’t know how we got so far away from nature. The smarter we get the less we seem to know.

    Keep up the good work!
    Regards,

    Karen

    Hi Christian,
I have a problem with my stomach bloating and such and don’t want to go on drugs like my doctor wants me to. I don’t want to waste money on some formula that may or may not work. Do you have any detox formula that you would recommend?

    Linda

It’s interesting that you mentioned body cleansing because recently a friend mentioned something about it. He showed me a book he has been reading entititled The Amazing Liver and Gallbadder Flush. I read part of it and from what I can gather the author has made some valid points about body cleansing. In fact I am thinking of getting the book myself. I’ll let you know what I think about the book. ART
