How to Obtain Natural Well-being

Have you ever wondered how people in the past used to work out, when there were no gyms and sophisticated workout machines? It was the time when there were no huge clusters of concrete buildings, and more acres of land were ruled by the Mother Nature. Greenery and fresh air have an irresistible appeal that gives a natural boost to one’s overall well-being. Even today, the significance of working out in a natural backdrop can’t be beaten by exercising with machines and in gymnasiums.

Health experts who regularly come up with health improvement programs often get their ideas from natural workout campaigns. If you personally meet a health program maker, he or she would talk endlessly about the significance of jogging or cycling in a park. I have known a number of experts who actually camp in the woods to obtain a regular dose of good health.

But you don’t have to go to the forests for natural workouts- though doing so once or twice a year is wonderful. Your own backyard garden or a public park is the place to let nature make your workouts effective. Green grass, plants and trees, and blooming fresh flowers contribute to the usefulness of a natural workout.

There are many exercises you can perform in the lap of nature. Yoga, for example, works amazingly when done in the early morning hours and in natural settings. Jogging and cycling are other things that not only keep you close to nature, but also let you have a great new workout experience. Pushups, sit-ups, skipping and many simple exercises are more effective when performed in the company of natural beauty.

Let’s count the health benefits that one achieves through natural workouts. First and foremost, those suffering from high blood pressure can make the best of regular workouts in a natural environment. People who fall sick regularly generally have a weak immune system. You can depend on natural outdoor exercises to experience an immunity boost.

Apart from the body, the human mind too benefits by exercising in natural environment. Every second person suffers from depression and stress, but devoting time towards natural workouts reduces these problems effectively. And you no longer have to rely on drugs to have a healthy mind.

Camping out once a month is a part of obtaining natural well-being. The more you associate yourself with nature, the more health benefits you enjoy.

  1. Dear Christian,

What a coincidence! I have similar experience like you about working out in nature is better than in an airconditioned gym.

I am living in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, a big, crowded, heavily poluted metropolitan. Fresh air is a bit of a problem overhere. Lately, in a new shopping mall near my house, a gym, branch of a popular gym chain was open with much promotion and attractive discounts for new members. My wife and daughter became members, but I was not interested. I don’t like exercising in an airconditoned room and besides I don’t like the music, I am too old for that.

Instead of going to the gym, I adopted a piece of land near my house, offered for sale but neglected by the owner to become overgrowned with wild shrubs and weeds. I cut the shrubs, weeded and tilled, mostly in the morning before I go to office. I usually work barechested to get the suntan as well. The effect of working out in the open air is amazing. Same like what you experience in the forest in Pennsylvania, and as proven by others who works in the yard as well.

Thank you for sharing with us your programs.
