Erectile dysfunction is a condition that most men do not feel comfortable addressing. That is not surprising considering how it makes them feel.
It is sad to me to think that there are men living with the condition and its detrimental effect on their self worth, relations with their partners, and just plain embarrassment. A man could be successful in other areas of his life, but if he is suffering from E.D., those successes don’t make him feel like a man.
Erectile dysfunction or male impotency is simply that there is not enough blood pumping to the penis to make it erect and maintain that erection. So, if it’s that simple, why do men rush to the pharmacy for a prescription? Simple: their doctors tell them they have the instant remedy for them.
What causes E.D. can be a combination of things. One way to improve erectile dysfunction is to make some simple lifestyle changes. For some men, adopting a healthier lifestyle, such as quitting smoking, exercising regularly, and reducing stress, may be all that is needed to find relief.

Gestational diabetes is one of the lesser known forms of diabetes mellitus. In fact, most women are not even aware of it, as there are a few symptoms that are normally ascribed to the various changes that occur during pregnancy. It is important to note that gestational diabetes can occur even if there is no previous history of high blood sugar.
Gestational diabetes occurs in 3-10% pregnancies and is usually revealed in diagnostic tests performed during pregnancy. There is also no known reason why blood sugar levels shoot up in some pregnant women, but it is believed that it is due to hormonal changes associated with pregnancy. Hormones produced during pregnancy are believed to increase insulin resistance, which impairs glucose tolerance. Insulin resistance is classified as diabetes mellitus type II, a condition where the body’s cells are unable to absorb glucose to derive energy.
According to its medical definition, gestational diabetes is ‘any degree of glucose intolerance with the onset or first recognition of pregnancy.’ Although associated with pregnancy, this does not rule out the possibility of prevalence of undiagnosed diabetes type II before pregnancy. The bottom line is that it can be diagnosed, but whether diabetes subsides after childbirth, it is open to doubt.

On a short flight from Cleveland to Denver a few weeks back, I began to develop increasing headaches. Then, nausea followed by mild dizziness.
Headaches are extremely unusual for me now days so I was wondering if I was getting sick. But I didn’t really feel like I had the flu.
This was after waking up from my usual “taking off nap”.
I quickly began to practice some of the deep breathing exercises I teach in my migraine and headache program. I started feeling better.
What I realized, however, was that the air was unusually stuffy, even for a packed airplane. And I was sitting in the front where the air is usually better than in the back.

I am sure we all know someone that has struggled with his/her weight. It’s not always easy to get those stubborn pounds to go away. I have received a number of emails from readers telling me about their battle with weight loss.
The fact is that your weight has a major impact on your health. High blood pressure, fatigue, fibromyalgia, arthritis, diabetes and depression are a few of the conditions an overweight person may be more inclined to experience. If you have ever been overweight or are overweight now, you understand what I mean. In addition, most often low self esteem also accompanies the physical issues.
There are people who just simply seem unale to lose a single pound, even though they may be eating healthy and exercising. In this case, it’s not uncommon that they just give up. Their motivation is there, but the fact that the results are not is discouraging. But consider that there is something blocking their body from losing weight.
Weight loss may have a direct relation to a low active thyroid disease. This can lower your metabolism and make it hard to lose weight. Your thyroid is like the central station for metabolism control. When you have a hypothyroidism this can cause fatigue, weakness, and rapid weight gain.

I had a frustrated customer contacting me the other day asking why we didn’t give Canola Oil the weight it deserves in our Blue Heron Cholesterol Guide.
After all, everyone is raving about it. It’s sold in most health food stores and some people consider it a magical solution for lowering cholesterol.
And it’s in pretty much EVERYTHING!
I answered that we actually gave it too much weight in our guide. We mentioned it once. In the next edition we’re going to take it completely out.
The answer was pretty harsh so now I owe this customer and you a little explanation.

Recently I had the pleasure to sit next to a very nice older gentleman on a long flight from Newark to Munich. We quickly began to discuss everything under the stars and one subject that came up was his high blood pressure.
I told him about my High Blood Pressure Exercise Program and how effective it is. He was interested but when I began explaining how the exercises work, he was skeptical and said his blood pressure was not stress related.
Pretty much everyone in his family on both sides going back several generations had hypertension. In fact, his father had died of a heart attack at age 53.
I’ve heard this objection so many times that I was not surprised at all. After all, there are so many things that can cause high blood pressure: high cholesterol, genetic factors, bad diet and most of the time … no known cause.

With summer in full swing in the northern hemisphere, I am getting a number of emails regarding a very sensitive matter…premature ejaculation and how to cure it.
When you say the words, “premature ejaculation,” it makes most men nervous. The fact is that it’s not a medical condition and very seldom does it have a physical cause. That’s the good news. An contrary o some beliefs, it’s not the outward anatomy that matters either.
The bad news is that it’s emotional and mental. There’s no magic pill to remedy the condition. But, it’s only bad news if you choose to let it control you and don’t seek help in treating it.
Premature ejaculation is only premature in the eyes of the beholder and his partner. It simply means that you are ejaculating before you and your partner would like you to. The very name itself, implies that the man is somehow "underdeveloped" or "not fully mature".

When you think of addiction, you may think alcohol or drugs. However, addictions can come in the form of not only substance but behavioral as well.
A good friend of mine has been sober for nearly 15 years. I commend him for this accomplishment. It was not an easy feat for him though. The first step was actually admitting that he had an addiction to alcohol and drugs. Once he hit an all time low in his life, he had no other option than to admit the addiction and seek help.
Do you think it’s easy to admit that you may have an addiction? My friend had to go through all the emotions of guilt, anxiety and depression. He also spent sleepless nights thinking about how he felt he was a failure. The interesting part of his story is that he was financially successful. What drove him to the addictions were the levels of stress he was experiencing every day.
My friend found his sobriety not through a rehabilitation center, but though natural methods. I’ll talk more about those methods in a bit.

I am often asked what the difference is between Alzheimer’s and dementia. While it is a valid question, we find it interesting that Alzheimer’s is actually just a form of dementia. But Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia. Studies show that Alzheimer’s accounts for up to 80% of dementia cases.
Since Dementia isn’t actually a specific disease, it describes a group of symptoms. These symptoms affect the function of the brain including behavior, memory, thinking, language, and judgment. And it goes way beyond just being forgetful at times.
I remember years ago, before all the research of Dementia and Alzheimer’s really took hold, that it was somewhat expected that as you age you would experience loss of memory, loss of mental focus and the ability to effectively take care of yourself on a daily basis. It was just part of “getting old”.

One of my readers recently wrote in asking for information about the causes of high levels of anxiety and how it affects mind racing. This leads to insomnia.
Obviously, if your mind is racing and you are experiencing anxiety, it’s difficult to slow your mind enough to relax and go to sleep. Many people suffer from this daily, but they don’t have to.
Let’s be honest. In today’s society of instant gratification, get it done now and it can’t wait until tomorrow, it’s no wonder people have trouble sleeping.
When you think of insomnia, you think that it’s just not being able to fall asleep. In actuality, it’s much more than that. Your everyday activities are in direct relation to the quality of sleep you get each night.
